Amin Nikoozadeh, PhD, was first exposed to ultrasound as a graduate student at Stanford University, where he worked on deep miniaturization technologies to create an entire ultrasound imaging system at the tip of a 3mm catheter. Seeing this cutting-edge technology and what ultrasound could do as a modality, he was puzzled as to why this technology was in the hands of the few, rather than in the hands of every physician. He realized that one needed to come up with quality imaging in a really, really affordable form factor, for a price that can be afforded by the masses. This inspired his creation of Vave Health in 2016. Since then, Vave has diligently been focused on creating the highest quality ultrasound solution for a price that won’t break the bank. After a few roadblocks (global pandemic, supply chain crisis), our small but mighty team was proud to commercially launch our phased array transducer, Vave Wireless Ultrasound, in early 2023.
